It Takes a Volunteer Nomination

Volunteers are the heart of our communities. 

The County of Grande Prairie recognizes the extraordinary contributions of individuals and groups who volunteer their time and skills to make our communities a great place to work, live and play! 

The nomination deadline is March 3, 2024.   

All eligible nominations will be provided with an It Takes a Volunteer appreciation package and will be highlighted during National Volunteer Week. Up to three exceptional nominees will also be featured in videos highlighting their contributions.  

Nomination Categories:

• Individual volunteers
  
• A group or team of volunteers (three or more) 
  
• Organizations  

Nomination Criteria:

• Nominations can be made for individuals and organizations that make a difference in the County of Grande Prairie through volunteerism.
• Nominees must not have been nominated in the past five years

For individuals:

• Youth ages 13+ can be nominated
• Must be an unpaid role

For a group or team:

• Three or more individuals volunteering for a project, initiative or organization
• Must be an unpaid role

 For organizations:

• Recognize the work of all the volunteers from a nonprofit or charitable organization who build community through services, programs, projects and/or events that makes a difference in the County of Grande Prairie
• Recognizing only the unpaid volunteers in the organization

For all nominees, while we recognize some nominators like to surprise volunteers with their recognition of their service, we highly recommend connecting with a nominee prior to submitting this form to get a full summary of their work. All nominees will be shared on the County of Grande Prairie’s website and may be chosen to be featured in a short video, highlighting the impact volunteers have in their community.
